I still seriously lost in this xanga interface.

Sitting at work.

Megan has been getting me into getting a new wardrobe. For the most part we have only been successful finding pants. Shirts are a problem for my size (I am morbidly obese). So Megan has been altering some of the shirts I already own so that they fit my body right. It's been pretty cool to walk out the door looking so good in my new and/or tailored digs. I've never felt so fine. A wife that tailors is something special.

Lot's of confusion when it comes to 'the future.' Who knows what or where could be next?

My wife posted a picture of our son Peter that is heart-melting. I can't figure out how to post it here because xanga has fancified everything and my time-worn-out patterns of right-click sequences don't work in fancy xangatown anymore.

I have always rooted more for nurture in the age old battle (nature v. nurture).

Peter does something that is a little idiosyncratic and I do it too. We both like to put an arm over our head while sleeping. Coincidence or deep-rooted genealogical connectedness?

As some of you already know from the letter I sent out or through personal conversations Megan and I are in the middle of a fund-raising campaign. I never know quite how to describe it:

fund-raising (popular with potential secular donors or people who don't spend any time in church)

support-raising (more accurate because I really want friends and family to be praying for us too and "support" is more general than "fund")

It is also difficult to describe because many folks outside Evangelical churches do not know that a great many Christian workers, especially the ones doing new things, spend a lot of time asking people to pay for what they are doing.

It is also difficult to describe, even to Evangelicals, because I am not moving to Africa or the Middle East where missionaries do all their work. I am staying in Brooklyn, Lord willing.

Here is a little information about what I hope to do:

I hope to spend the next two years working as a "Church-Planting Intern" under the Brooklyn Church Project (BCP) at Resurrection Presbyterian Church (RPC). BCP is a new and growing network of churches in Brooklyn committed to the continual planting of new congregations in Brooklyn, home to over 2.5 million people. RPC is a church in that network that my wife and I have been members of since we moved to Brooklyn. It is a young church and I absolutely love working there. I have served as a part-time intern there on a mostly volunteer basis for the last year and a half.

I am trying to raise a lot of money so pray for me. So far I am drastically bellow where I would need to be to begin the internship (about 5% of the total amount). If you know anyone who would be interested in being involved or funding the BCP please email me.
